God Wants It All
by Pastor Derrick Jackson on September 17th, 2013

The God of the Bible reveals His Nature in a myriad of ways. One of the most common revelations of God known to humanity is His identity as The Creator God.  Millions of people are familiar with the Biblical account of the creation of the earth, its inhbitants, and the heavenlies.  This widely known account is found in the Bible in the book of Genesis chapters 1 and 2.  As the Creator of humankind, God possesses a unique position to require that we live our lives "for Him".  His position as Creator affirms His claim of ownership of everything that He has "made", i.e. the heavenlies, the earth, you and I.  As Creator, God rightfully and righteously exercises His Sovereign right of ownership of our lives, our space, and everything connected to us.

Fortunately God is not a tyrant, a dictator, or a bully.  The Bible reveals that GOD IS LOVE.  We find evidence of this truth in New Testament scripture in 1 John chapter 4:
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (emphasis added) 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (NKJV)

God's Love (agape) is revealed through the gift of salvation in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ and is ALSO expressed by His blessing of FREE WILL He has given to every person.  Humanity has never been forced to choose God, His Will, and His Word.  We have always been given the gift of choice.  In His infinite wisdom and love, God also gave humans clear instructions (Genesis chapter 2 verses 15-17) and revelation regarding the consequences of choosing or rejecting Him (Deuteronomy chapter 28 all (accepting v. 1-14 | rejecting v.15-64)) (John chapter 3 verses 16-21) (Acts chapter 13 verses 46-52).

"God Wants It All"

** God has lovingly given us everything. As Creator God, God has given us life, love (agape), gifts, talents, abilities, human relationships, opportunity, and resources.

2 Peter 1 : 2 - 4
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  (NKJV)

** God has ALSO given humanity His blueprint for life on earth and life in eternity with Him.

Deuteronomy 6 : 1 - 9
1 “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, 2 that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’
4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
  (NKJV)

Titus 2 : 11 - 14
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.  (NKJV)

"God Deserves It All - All That We Are and All That We Have"

** God gave His Best Gift - Jesus Christ - when we were undeserving of the gift of eternal life with God.

Romans 5 : 6 - 11
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.  (NIV)

** God knows your heart. He knows what you need and what you need to let go.

Mark 10 : 17 - 22
17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ”fn
20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”
21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

According to the Word of God, the Holy Bible, God is our Creator and Redeemer. Since God made us and knows us (even our secrets faults within), we should GIVE HIM OUR ALL and live according to His Word and Wisdom found in His eternal Word, the Holy Bible. <end>
